Functions of Legislative Assembly - AJK Legislative Assembly

Supreme body of the elected representatives of the people of Azad Jammu and Kashmir.

The main functions of the Assembly are as under:-

To formulate laws and enactments within the territory of AJ&K.
To consider matters of public importance.
To take up questions, call attention notices, adjournment motions and resolutions of public importance, privileges motion etc.
To make amendments in the Constitution.
To elect Prime Minister, Speaker and Deputy Speaker.
To pass the budget of fiscal year of the State.
Policy issues relating to State.
